Hobbies: Collecting shampoo and bath oils and such, gambling, shopping and tennis. Fears: Kami has stage fright! Favourites Colours: Violet and colours which are related to it. He wears those colours a lot on stage ^_^ Songs: Romance by Penicillin and two children songs; Kaeru no Pyonta sugoina and Ikaros. Food: the woman he slept with(?!), hamburgers and curry in Cadoya. Foundation: Mary Quand. Animals: Butterflies! <3 Other funny facts: * Közi gave him the nickname "monkey man" because of his childish nature. * Kami had something with butterflies. He hda at least three tattoos of them on his arm and it is said that he bought everything which had to do with butterflies! * You all know Kami's hair? It was all natural!! * When Kami was young he listened to the Culture Club. * Kami is known as the shyest member of Malice Mizer. He seems to feel uncomfortable during interviews (which is very cute to be honest ^_^). * He was very close friends with Gackt. * Kami loved gambling but wasn't not very good at it. He once bought 300 lotto tickets, it cost him Ą90.000 and just gained Ą10.000 out of it >_<. * Kami was very emotional. Backstage he cried at Tetsu's last live. 
* Kami believed in reincarnation and rumours say that he once said he was a Russian girl who was stabbed in the eye by her own mother in the winter... ^^" * Kami washed his hair in cold water. When he dyed it he used a shampoo called "ma cherie". * Kami collected perfumes, he has almost 80 bottles. He once discovered a perfume which smells like a hair manicure (a shampoo to colour your hair). From the 80 bottles there are only 4 he uses. * Yu-ki, the one who plays bass, also collected shampoo, this lead to a lot of tradings between them =3 * Kami won 3 awards. One for Japanese writing (he wrote hukoku kyohei which means "makes the country prosperous and make the army strong"), one by cheating(!!). He had to write an essay but instead of doing it himself he copied it from a book! His third award was for a tennis game. He got the second title! * Kami's first date was when he was in Junior High, he liked a girl from his tennis club which was in another school. * Kami first looked at a woman's breasts. ^^" * Because of his stage fright he once run from the stage while Yu-ki was talking ---> Yu-ki also has stage firght and was left alone shaking and stammering (poor guy ^_^). * When Kami gets up in the morning, the first thing he does is smoking. After that he would clean his room. * Before Kami met Visual Kei he thought it was very wrong for a man to wear dresses and make-up. * His room is really dark, because he can only sleep when it is really dark. The walls are covered with some masks. He calls his theme of deecoration "nostalgia". * His clothing style changed a few times. He liked casual clothing most because it is easy to move in it. Though, the clothes must be violet or in a related colour! He prefers rubber soles because it's easy to walk in them. He is used to very high heels! From himself he sais he thinks he is a good shopper. Why? Because he buys thinks which looks expensive but aren't! * We all know Kami as a happy person, ne? Well he once said he never acted it. He just liked to be happy! *^_^* Kami's live: Kami is one of the few artists that never learned how to play the piano. But in elementary school he learned traditional Japanese writing. Howdever, he really liked the music class in his school. He would go to the room by himself and listen to the records. As child he never wanted to be defeated. He met the drums/ percussion for the first time when he was in the 5th grade at a music festival. There were only 3 students who could play the drums/percussion and he was one of them. 
He practised a lot, he wanted the instructors to tell him he could teach the other two students. A friend of him also got interested in music and they decided to make a band. Kami first wanted to play the guitar, but he couldn't do it. So he would play percussion once again. He took a part-time job to save money. When he had enough he but his own drum/percussion set. It was very simple but it made him, still a child, very happy! Kami practised four or five hours on weekdays and he practised whole sundays. He also joined a tennis club, which meant that he couldn't practise that much on weekdays. Kami taught himself how to play 4-beat, 8-beat and even 16-beat. When he saw the drummer of Dead End he started to get interested in technique. He was amazed by the technique of that drummer. When Kami was 17 he decided he really wanted to become a drummer. The band he was in at the moment was really good. They were invited for different little shows and competitions in Tokyo. After he graduaded from high-school he went to Tokyo, he also quited the band. That was because the other members couldn't come to Tokyo. So he joined a punk-band in Tokyo. In the beginning, Kami didn't care what genre he was playing. He said his life was miserable like punk music. But after a while he realised this was not what he wanted. He wanted to develop his skills more and learn more technique. That was the time he found visual kei. He joined a visual kei band called Kneuklid Romance. The first time he noticed Malice Mizer was at a livehouse. He became interested in them because of the song "Baroque". He thought the ritme was very beautiful and the development of the song was very interesting. Yu-ki was the first one who asked him if he wanted to play in Malice Mizer and short-after Mana-sama called him. For half a year Kami was a temporary member, then he officially joined them. Malice Mizer often talked about how they could make unusual music and of course, about the "what is human" question. This really interested Kami. Accordig to Kami it is more difficult to bring a message to the audience when you're using an instrument instead of singing. A vocalist can say his message in words but a drummer has to show the message through percussion. He said it's a very hard and huge theme but he goes for it! He wants to let the audience hear their message through all the instruments! Kami once said "I hope my play could be a sound of life." Everybody's sais Kami has a good personality (and I really believe them!). They also say that, because of that, he can be cheated easily. In the sounds of his drums Kami wants to express his honest feelings. Kami really likes to play technically hard scores, although he is used to it. Why he likes them he doesn't know. He thinks he's looking for the answer (I guess from the "what is human" question?) by playing the drum. Kami was interested in captains of the old Japanese army. He one watched a tv program about captains from an old Japanese army and he was so impressed that he continued watching it every week. He didn't like the history itself but the way they lived and thought, attracted him. According to Kami Shingen Takeda was the best captain and Masamune Date is the second. He was so font of it that he suddenly started to read a lot of history books. 
Kami's fans knew very well what he liked and one of them gave him a copy of Shingen's army flag!! He was really proud of it and put it behind him when he was playing during the live. Kami liked the way Shingen calculated before he did things. Many say that Shingen could have taken over the country when he had been there a few years earlier. He liked to compare Malice Mizer with Shingen. He wanted to take over Japan, they wanted to take over the Indies world. Both of the captains he liked gave him courage and knowlegde and helped him with doing the things he wanted. Kami also liked Japanese fortressess and he really wanted to visit them someday! This part is horribly difficult for me... Most of the time I don't read this part of other fansites, so to write it is even more difficult... Kami died... On 21st of June, 1999, he died because of a subarachnoid hemorrhage when he was sleeping. He was found four days later. Having a subarachnoid hemorrhage made him die quickly. There was no moment of pain. So he went away peacefully *snif*. The funeral was held the day when he was found. Only his parents, Mana, Közi, Yu-ki and a few close friends where there. Malice Mizer released a memorial box with a few songs written by Kami. He never published them because he knew it didn't go well with Malice Mizer's image. On the albums which were published after his dead he's credited as "our eternal blood relative Kami" (so cute <3). It is also said among fans (and I believe it too) that the song "Saikai no chi to bara" is dedicated to Kami. Gackt wrote two songs dedicated to Kami (both on the Mars album) "Emu ~for my dear~" and "U+K". Közi and Yu-ki made "Memento" as a dedication for Kami. *r.i.p. my butterfly, I'll never forget you!* |
